AGC is a world leader in the production of glass, fluorochemicals and fluoropolymer raw materials. AGC supplies Fluon® PTFE in granular, aqueous and lubricant powder form, Fluon® ETFE as pellets, powder or film, compatible colour masterbatches for FEP and ETFE, Asahi Guard® water and oil repellent and Lumiflon™ fluorinated resin for coating systems.
The fluororesin LUMIFLON® provides high durability, strong weathering and corrosion protection, colour and gloss retention, good chemical resistance in paint and coatings, for structures like bridges, buildings, vehicles, ships and aircraft. LUMIFLON™ is available in solvent-borne, water-borne and powder grades.
AGC is proud to have supplied LUMIFLON® for the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai and for the Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi as well as to ANA for reduced re-painting of their aeroplane fleet. It was also used to coat the longest suspension bridge in the world, the Akashi Kaikyo bridge and the world’s tallest free-standing broadcasting tower, the Tokyo Skytree, in Japan.
Fluon® ETFE film was the material of choice for the Allianz Arena, Munich, the National Stadium & National Aquatics Center, Beijing, the Forsyth Barr stadium in Dunedin, the Japan Pavilion in Shanghai and the Shan Khatyr, Khazakstan, the world’s largest ETFE tent.
