DHL Partners Placido Domingo Tour to Deliver Aspiring
Dreams of Children from Russian Charity
DHL Express, the leading provider of global express
services, has teamed up with the Placido Domingo tour to
offer a signed painting as part of their joint fundraising
efforts for Russian arts-based children’s charity, Maria’s
Children.
The picture, painted by orphaned Russian children supported
by the charity, was signed by the legendary opera star and
will be auctioned at a public charity event to be held later
this year.
“We are delighted to be working with Placido Domingo to
support this important charity and would like to thank him
for his generous support. DHL Express has worked with
Maria’s Children in Russia for nearly four years, and we
look forward to continuing that support in the future, in
order to help even more children in need,” said Adrian
Marley, Country Manager of DHL Express Russia.
Commenting on the initiative, Placido Domingo said, “I am
delighted to work with DHL to support the valuable work of
Maria’s Children. I strongly believe that children from all
backgrounds around the world should have the opportunity to
realize their dreams.”
This latest initiative is an extension of DHL’s two-year
contract as the exclusive logistics partner for Placido
Domingo’s round the world tour. Domingo was in Moscow on 23
February 2008, performing at The State Kremlin Palace, and
during the two-year tour, he will be performing other
cities, including Hong Kong, Boston, Pecs and London.
