Russia in the City
On 1 July we held the third of our Russia in the City luncheons. The principle behind this event is that we hold it only as and when we have access to a speaker of suitable seniority to attract a high-level audience from the City of London. The full house of 100 people were suitably enthralled by the presentation by Matthias Warnig, Managing Director of Nord Stream, the Baltic Sea gas pipeline project. The splendid setting of Vintners’ Hall gave an added sense of occasion. Russia in the City is held under Chatham House rules; but suffice it to say that Herr Warnig ensured that no-one was rushing back to their desks before the lunch was over! We should like to express our grateful thanks to Herr Warnig and Paul Corcoran of Nord Stream for making the event not just possible but a huge success. Thanks, too, to the staff of Vintners’ Hall for providing such excellent service.

Первого июля мы провели третий ланч из серии Russia in the city. Суть этого мероприятия – пригласить достаточно высокопоставленного спикера, чтобы собрать аудиторию из лондонского Сити. Послушать в прекрасных интерьерах презентацию Матиаса Варнига, управляющего директора проекта балтийского нефтепровода Норд-Стрим, пришли около 100 человек. Мы бы хотели выразить нашу благодарность господину Варнигу и Полу Коркорану из Норд-Стрим за успех этого мероприятия, а также сотрудников Vintners’ Hall за великолепный сервис.
